When students return to school next week, a Tacoma, Washington teacher will have a great story to tell from Christmas break.

Jon Kitna, 41, is a former NFL quarterback and now a math teacher and football coach at Lincoln High School. According to USA Today Sports, he was signed by the Dallas Cowboys this week to one game as Kyle Orton’s backup because of Tony Romo’s injury.

Even though Kitna is returning to the big leagues, he is not forgetting his small-town roots. He will donate his $53,000 paycheck to his high school.

Kitna had a 14-year career with Seattle, Cincinnati and Detroit. He spent his final three seasons backing up Romo before announcing his retirement in 2011.
