ASHTABULA COUNTY, Ohio -- Coach Frank Hall, who is known as being a true hero during the Chardon High School shootings earlier this year, is speaking from his heart about the February tragedy.

Sunday morning, he had an important message to spread at his home church. Though talking about the emotional event is difficult for him, Coach Hall says he is fighting for the state of schools everywhere.

"We need Christian teachers in our schools," said Coach Hall, to a congregation at The Jefferson Church of the Nazarene.

Hall explained that the shootings back on February 27th changed his life forever, not to mention, the lives of so many others.

T.J. Lane is accused of going on a rampage, shooting and killing three of his classmates. During the chaos, Coach Hall tried to stop the shootings by chasing the suspect through the hallways and yelling "stop". Hall emotionally recounted discovering several victims.

"I go in there and I see the three young men on the ground--leading crisis managers say in a moment of crisis you revert back to what is most important to you."

"I can tell you that's true because I knelt down and said Father God, be with these young men," he went on.

Coach Hall says he still prays every day for the victims' families’ peace, and even for Lane, who turns 18 on Sept. 19.

Lane is charged with aggravated murder, attempted aggravated murder, and felonious assault in connection with the shootings.  He has pleaded not guilty.

"I believe T.J. owes a debt to society, but ultimately our faith brings us that God loves him and that he needs his grace also," Hall said.

As for this school year, the coach says the students are looking forward to fun events like Homecoming and future football games.
