TAMPA, Florida — Hundreds and hundreds of loan collection calls have resulted in $1 million for a Tampa couple.
According to WTSP, Joyce and Nelson Coniglio over the course of about four years said they received endless calls from Bank of America after they fell behind on their mortgage. The couple received upward of 700 calls from the bank.
The couple even asked the bank to stop calling, but the calls continued.
So the Coniglios filed a lawsuit under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act. They were awarded roughly $1 million, which amounts to about $500 per harassing call.
The couple hopes their case will help others when it comes to unwanted robocalls.
