(WJW) – The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced that people who are fully vaccinated no longer need to wear masks in most places. And, the Ohio Department of Health modified its mask orders to reflect that decision.
Now stores, attractions and local municipalities are determining their stance on the matter.
All other state health orders will be eliminated starting June 2, Gov. Mike DeWine announced.

Akron City Council voted on May 17, 2021 to lift its mandate requiring masks in public places effective immediately.
Following the Akron City Council’s lead, the Akron Zoo will no longer require fully vaccinated guests to wear masks. They ask that visitors who are not fully vaccinated continue to wear face coverings, and for all to still socially distance.
Once Gov. DeWine has lifted the mask order on June 2, the City of Beachwood said it, also, will remove the City mask and social-distancing mandates. However, the City still recommends that all unvaccinated residents and visitors continue wearing masks and practicing social distancing, according to CDC guidelines.
Masks are no longer mandatory for those who have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
The Cleveland Indians said Progressive Field will return to full capacity on June 2, and masks will be optional for all starting on that date. Tickets for the rest of the season’s home games go on sale Wednesday, May 26.
CLEVELAND METROPARKS ZOO
Similar to the Akron Zoo, the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo is also no longer requiring visitors to wear masks, as long as they are fully vaccinated. Some social distancing measures are still in place around the park, however.
The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium announced they are no longer requiring guests to wear masks outdoors. Masks are still required when indoors but guests with a mask exemption are not required to wear one.
Kennywood is no longer requiring guests and employees alike to wear masks, in accordance with the CDC guidelines. The West Mifflin, Pennsylvania, amusement park is still asking those who are not vaccinated to mask up.
City leaders report people who are vaccinated are not required to wear masks in city buildings. Those who are not vaccinated are asked to continue to wear face coverings.
