OAKWOOD VILLAGE, Ohio-- The Bedford City School District is mourning the loss of a principal who passed away suddenly.

Carylwood Intermediate School Principal Paul G. Ward died on Monday, leaving behind a wife and two sons.

On Monday, hundreds gathered at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Oakwood Village to pay their respects. Walls were covered in messages from students, saying their goodbyes to Mr. Ward.

So many attended the services that the church's fine arts center was used as an overflow for mourners.

Donations in his memory can be sent to the Bedford City School District, 475 Northfield Rd., Bedford, Ohio, 44146 for the Paul G. Ward, Jr. Annual Scholarship Fund.
