CLEVELAND– Bishop Richard Lennon is recovering in the hospital after undergoing a heart procedure on Thursday.
Lennon was at work when he started having chest pains at about 7:45 a.m., a Cleveland Catholic Diocese spokesman said.
He was taken to St. Vincent Charity Hospital, where doctors performed heart catherterization. They also decided the Bishop needed stents to treat weak arteries.
There were no complications and Lennon is resting comfortably, church officials said. He was awake and speaking with staff shortly after the procedure.
