CLEVELAND– A man is accused of trying to rob two fast food restaurants in Cleveland Wednesday afternoon.
The suspect first went into the Subway on Broadway Avenue near East 65th Street and attempted to hold up the place. Cleveland police said he didn’t get any cash, just a sandwich.
Armed with a knife and his sandwich, the man went into the nearby Burger King and demanded cash. A security guard tried to stop him. According to police, the two wrestled and a round was fired from the guard’s gun.
No one was shot.
The security guard chased the man to East 58th Street, where the pair fought again. Police said security used pepper spray to subdue the suspect. Money and the knife were recovered.
He was arrested, and booked for aggravated robbery and resisting arrest. His name has not been released.
