Cleveland Police Search for Driver in Hit-Skip Accident

CLEVELAND – Police are searching for the driver of a vehicle involved in an early Sunday morning hit and run accident.

According to Cleveland Police Chief Michael McGrath, the accident occurred at the intersection of Ontario Street at South Roadway around 1:45 a.m.

Police say Michael E. Keough, 27, of Brooklyn, was jaywalking at Ontario Street and South Roadway in the crosswalk when he was struck by a white four-door vehicle that was traveling southbound on Ontario with the green light.

According to police, after hitting the victim the vehicle never stopped and fled the scene southbound on Ontario Street.

Keough was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center, where he was treated and later released.

Police say the vehicle in question is possibly a Ford Crown Victoria or Mercury Marquis.

The vehicle suffered damage to the left front bumper and lower left front of windshield.
