CLEVELAND – A Cleveland policeman went well above the call of duty to help a sick dog.
Officer John Lyons from the Fourth District, found an emaciated and pregnant Mastiff while working on the third-shift on November 1st.
Officer Lyons managed to capture the dog, and took her to a veterinarian. He called “Amy’s Adoptables” to see if she could take her in as a rescue. The dog named,”Clarice,” stayed at the vets overnight, and was taken to Lyon’s home the next night.
With the help of “Amy’s Adoptables” Lyons and his wife helped deliver Clarice’s litter of eight puppies.
The dogs are still being cared for in Lyons’ garage, where the puppies’ mother is making a slow recovery.
