CLEVELAND — A Fourth District Cleveland Division of Police officer was arrested on sex related charges, including two counts of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor.
Chief Calvin Williams said Internal Affairs Unit investigators arrested Charles Locke, 43, Thursday night.
Locke was expected to be in court later Friday or Saturday.
Union President Jeff Follmer said he is aware of the charges but cannot comment at this time, since it is a pending criminal matter.
Follmer, however, did confirm Locke was the officer who arrested convicted serial killer Anthony Sowell.
Locke was hired in October 2007.
He will be suspended without pay pending the outcome of the legal process.
Investigators plan to seek additional charges.
Lock may have a pre-disciplinary hearing in front of Director of Public Safety Michael McGrath.
