CLEVELAND- Kids and critters celebrated the New Year 12 hours early at the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo on Wednesday.

It’s the ninth year of the zoo’s Noon Year’s Eve party, which is a free and family-friendly event.

"We have our celebration at the stroke of noon so families can stay up and enjoy it together," said Tom Rovatin, with the Cleveland Metroparks.

Children and their families enjoyed animal shows, music and ice carving, as well as a special New Year's ball drop at noon.
