CLEVELAND– The Cleveland Metroparks released the names of the rangers involved  in last Tuesday’s deadly shooting.

Chelsea McLellan, 27, was shot in her bulletproof vest by the suspect, and Kyle Schultz, 24, was injured by flying  glass, the Metroparks Rangers said. McLellan has been with the rangers for 38 months, while Schultz has been with the Cleveland Metroparks for 17 months.

The suspect was identified as Derek Stokes, 33. Officials said he was arrested on a felony warrant and had prior felony convictions.

Stokes was being brought to the jail by the rangers when he somehow fired a gun at McLellan. The two rangers returned fire.

The case is still being investigated.
