CLEVELAND-- FOX 8 has learned how some Cleveland churches are going to try to stop the violence.

The Mt. Pleasant Ministerial Alliance is spearheading a drive for churches to adopt schools and specific streets. Reverend Jimmy Gates says church members will be doing outreach work, even going door to door speaking to people.

First the ministers are inviting everyone to a march and rally this Sunday. That will start at 2 p.m. at East 146 and Kinsman, and it will end at East 130 and Kinsman.

Reverend Gates says this will include members of three families who recently lost children to the city violence. Gates says the rally will include prayers for those families, the community, city leaders, and the churches too.
