CLEVELAND, Ohio — The Cleveland Cavaliers beat the Detroit Pistons, 107-90, in Game 2 in the first round of the playoffs.

The Cavaliers were strong from outside the arch, they had 20 three-pointers, which is a new franchise record. That record also ties the most all-time in the NBA playoffs. The record was previously held by the 1996 SuperSonics, 2011 Mavericks and 2015 Warriors.

They had a very strong 3rd quarter that ended with them leading 82-68. They didn’t have as strong of a first half, but still led at halftime, 55-53.

It was a different story at the end of the 1st; the Cavs trailed, 28-23. But they were 63% from 3. Kyrie Irving had three 3s; JR Smith had two.

Next up for the Cavs? Game 3 this Friday, April 22 at the Palace of Auburn Hills at 7 p.m.

The Cavaliers defeated the Pistons in Game 1 on Sunday afternoon, 106-101.

The score was close throughout the entire game, but the Cavaliers were able to pull away at the end and keep enough of a lead to take the win.

In a comment made after the first quarter, Piston’s head coach Stan Van Gundy claimed the officiating was weak and he said LeBron James “gets to do what he wants.”

Van Gundy was fined $25,000 by the NBA following that comment.

This postseason is a change for the Cavaliers since both  Kevin Love and Kyrie Irving are healthy. They were both injured during the NBA playoffs in 2015; Love against the Boston Celtics and Irving against the Warriors in the NBA Finals.
