CLEVELAND, Ohio-- From Cleveland’s Public Square to potentially the White House.

Cleveland attorney Peter Kirsanow says he was watching the Ohio State game on Saturday, when he got the call to meet with President-elect Donald Trump.

Hours later, he says he was on a plane to New Jersey, cameras capturing the Cleveland native walking into Trump’s estate, Sunday afternoon.

Kirsanow said, "Met with the president-elect, vice president-elect, General Priebus, or actually Chief of Staff Priebus, now, and a couple other advisers to the president-elect."

Kirsanow, who says he voted for Trump, is possibly being vetted to be the president-elect’s labor secretary.

He is a current member of the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights, and was appointed by President George W. Bush as a member of the National Labor Relations Board.

Kirsanow has strong beliefs that illegal immigration takes jobs from unskilled Americans, particularly from black men.

To that, Kirsanow says Trump was receptive.

“He is extremely focused, and one thing he was focused on with me was the creation of jobs for all Americans. And he is committed to that."

When asked if the Donald Trump he met is the man the country had seen while on the campaign trail, or a much subdued Donald Trump, Kirsanow’s said,”The Donald Trump I saw was first of all very genial, very personable in the beginning. But then when it got down to the interview itself, he was all business; he dominated the room; he was very sharp and focused."

He had this to say if a Trump cabinet offer is made: “Anytime a president asks you to do something, you have to seriously consider it."

Kirsanow is a partner at Benesch, Friedlander, Coplan and Aronoff in downtown Cleveland.

He says he never met Trump before Sunday’s meeting, but his views were already known to Trump advisers.

Some conservatives have been promoting Kirsanow as a perfect pick for labor secretary.
