CLEVELAND, Ohio — The city of Cleveland and ODOT are ready for the storm heading our way.
The area is expecting several inches of snow; a winter weather advisory is in effect for most of our viewing area.
According to Cleveland’s winter weather plan released Friday, the Division of Public Works will treat the roads throughout the weekend and will be at full staffing level.
At least 40 pieces of snow removal equipment will be in use from this afternoon through Sunday morning.
The city encourages residents to park off-street on all city streets to give plows enough room to work. They also encourage drivers to allow plenty of extra travel time or to stay off the streets all together.
ODOT said crews will work around-the-clock in 12-hour shifts plowing and salting roadways until the storm ends. Roads will be pretreated, as well.
They said 80 crews will be out in Cuyahoga, Lake and Geauga counties.
ODOT reminds drivers: Don’t crowd the plow!
Snow parking bans have been issued for the following communities:
–City of Green, from 1 a.m. Sunday through 10 a.m. Monday
–Newburgh Heights, from Saturday night until further notice
–Seven Hills, until further notice
