CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Area pastors gathered at Lane Metropolitan CME Church in Cleveland Tuesday, saying they want Officer Michael Brelo and 12 others involved in the 2012 deadly chase and shooting fired.

Brelo on Saturday was found not guilty on all charges in connection with his role in the deadly 2012 police chase. He had been charged with two counts of voluntary manslaughter in the deaths of Malissa Williams and Timothy Russell.

A press release issued by the pastors stated:

"We do not agree with the not-guilty verdict rendered by Judge John O'Donnell. Further we command that Brelo, and the others involved must be dismissed from the Cleveland Police Department for their use of excessive, and dangerous use of force and killing two unarmed citizens."

The pastors also said the weekend should have been a time to commemorate Memorial Day but instead the judge "decided to issue the most hideous verdict in the United States of America."

The pastors requested that elected officials look into if any civil rights violations were made in the deadly chase and shooting.
