The Richland County Christmas 'Wunderland' is coming to an end and soon you'll be able to purchase a  piece of this holiday tradition.

"Well I've been doing it for 24 years I'm 90 years old, the ladder started getting higher and the designs started getting heavier so it was time for me to hang them up," said Bob Hoover, an electrician.

For more than 2 decades electrician Bob Hoover has been volunteering to maintain the Christmas 'Wunderland' at the Richland County fairgrounds in Mansfield but now he's retiring.

More than 150 Christmas displays go up at the end of the county fair, then they are taken down after Christmas.

Hoover usually has people helping him with the Christmas displays but this year he doesn't so everything must go.

"It used to be that I had a couple of volunteers to help me and we'd put them up and took them down that way but anymore, the economy changed times have changed and you have to change with it," said Hoover.

Charles Miller is an auctioneer and will be selling all the light displays, signs, extension cords, almost anything associated with Christmas will be put up for bid.

“Basically we will start where the light display would traditionally starts over by the main office and kind of walk and talk. We'll sell the displays when we get to them and we are hoping for a nice turnout," said Charles Miller, an auctioneer.

Richland county is one of the first fairgrounds in the area too have a drive-thru Christmas display and after 25 years, people say it's sad to see it go.

"It's been a good thing for the fairgrounds. People look at it to come back every year and enjoy it, but if it's not feasible to do it then it's not feasible to do everything has to come to an end sooner or later,” said Hoover.

The Christmas 'Wunderland' light displays will go up for auction April 9th at 4 p.m. at the Richland county fairgrounds.
