CLEVELAND-- If you haven't already mailed out those Christmas cards or Christmas gifts you better hurry up, especially if you want them delivered in time for the holidays.
You have plenty of options when it comes to shipping, but the longer you wait, the more you'll pay.
"Cost is important but I think this time of the year it's more important that it gets there on time," said Corey Godine of Seven Hills.
At the FedEx Office store in Independence, they're gearing up for a busy week.
"This week we expect it to be very busy here in the center but the FedEx network overall the busiest week was last week," said Jennifer Dellinger, FedEx store manager.
Tuesday, December 17 is the last and final day to ship via FedEx Ground to ensure your package arrives in time for Christmas; the absolute latest date to ship to ensure your package arrives in time for Christmas is December 23, but you'll pay a little more."
"If you are a true procrastinator, we offer same-day delivery service in 10 or 15 major markets. We actually launched that service in Cleveland," Dellinger said.
A similar story at the post office.
"I just came to post some Christmas cards for friends," said Alex Kumahor of Shaker Heights.
On Monday, the post office in Cleveland saw nearly four million pieces of mail; that's four times the normal amount.
"It's the biggest mailing day of the year," said David Van Allen, regional spokesman for the postal service. "I think people finally realize I have to get it in the mail. I have to get it in now, we always tell people mail early but this is the day they usually wait for."
If you haven't mailed out that Christmas card just yet, you have until Friday to guarantee that it arrives in time for Christmas.
"Normally, I come here very late but decided to do it very early this time," said Kumahor.
For priority mail, the last day to ship via the postal service is Saturday.
