CLEVELAND — The wintery day Thursday served as the perfect backdrop for a very important holiday season tradition in Northeast Ohio: the first tapping of Great Lakes Christmas Ale.
Santa himself was on hand at the Great Lakes Brewing Company for the annual “first pour.”
Customers at Great Lakes Ohio City Brewpub can now enjoy the popular seasonal beer. The seasonal treat will soon hit store shelves.
In addition to the first pour, visitors were also treated to a lot more holiday fare, including cinnamon and sugar barley pretzels and even Christmas Ale sausage.
“It is awesome. It’s a great beer for the season and the flavors are just perfectly blended. Everyone should enjoy it,” said customer Tina Paulson.
Paulson won a contest to drink today’s first pour. She and her husband submitted a photo of their Christmas tree decorated like the train that’s on the Christmas Ale label.
