CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Cleveland Chef Michael Symon said he hopes Donald Trump stays far away from his restaurants when the Republican National Convention rolls into town.

He laughed about the idea after being asked about Trump during an interview on 92.3 The Fan Thursday.

"There's not a chance I let him in to one of my restaurants," Symon said.

Symon called into the show as the hosts were talking about seating at his new restaurant, Mabel's.

At the end of the interview, the hosts asked Symon, who operates several local restaurants, what his plans were to host RNC visitors, specifically Trump.

"(I was) fortunate or unfortunate enough to meet him through the years, and I'm not gonna lie, he freaks me out a little bit," Symon said.

"It's just a 'he creeps me out' thing," said Symon.

The RNC will take place in Cleveland from July 18-21.
