Charlotte Man Shoves Reporter, Swears on Live TV

MYRTLE BEACH – A Charlotte man was arrested after shoving a WMBF news reporter snatching her microphone and shouting expletives on live television last week.

Reporter Ashley Taylor was speaking Wednesday during the 11 p.m. newscast about escalating crimes near Ocean Boulevard and the Grand Stand. During the report, Justin Moore, 20, of Charlotte, push the reporter away, jumped in front of the camera and shouted expletives into the microphone.

Moore yelled “I am that  [expletive],” before the live shot ended.

The reporter spoke with the Myrtle Beach Police Department and told officers one of the males knocked her out of the way, nearly causing her to fall to the pavement after grabbing her microphone.

Officers were given pictures of the suspect, who was arrested a short time later. Video was given to police for evidence.

Moore was arrested and charged with third degree assault and battery.

He was released from jail on Thursday.
