CLEVELAND – It’s a common reaction when everyone hears that Dick Goddard has been forecasting the weather on television for over 50 years: “Wow! That must be a record!”

And now we can say that yes, in fact, it IS a record.

A Guinness World Record, to be more precise.

Fox 8 contacted the folks at Guinness and it has been verified that:

“The longest career as a weather forecaster is 51 years, 6 days, achieved by Dick Goddard (USA) in Cleveland Ohio from 13 September 1965 to 19 September 2016.”

Way to go, Mr. Goddard! Best wishes for your new venture – helping all the “four foots” out there!
