CLEVELAND – A Cleveland Cavaliers fan has been fired after he tweeted an offensive remark to Steph Curry’s sister and daughter, Riley, on Wednesday.
Sydel Curry tweeted about landing in Cleveland to watch her brother take on the Cavaliers. The fan responded to her tweet with a remark about leaving Cleveland adding an offensive part about 3-year-old Riley Curry.
The tweet has since been deleted.
Once a few Twitter users noticed the tweet, they saw that the man worked for Holton Wise Real Estate and reached out to the company.
Holton Wise Owner James Wise released a statement on his Twitter account Thursday confirming that the employee had been terminated for his actions on Twitter.
The statement said in part:
“We do not condone or tolerate hate speech of any kind, let alone hate speech that is directed towards a child.”
The Cavs fan has since tweeted about what happened.
