Cavs Cool Off, Allow Detroit Win

The Cavaliers cooled off in the third quarter while the Detroit Pistons made their move.  The result, a 117 to 99 Detroit win at the Palace at Auburn Hills.

The Cavaliers entered the third quarter down by 7.  They scored only 21 points while the home team popped in 31, and before you could say “Motown,” the Pistons held a 17 point lead going into the final quarter. 

Try as they may, the Cavs’ second unit tried to chip away at the Pistons’ lead but the home team held steady to pick up the win.

Brandon Knight sparked the Pistons’ attack.  He scored 20 and dished out 10 assists.

The Cavaliers were led by Tristan Thompson who scored 19 points and pulled down 9 rebounds.  Kyrie Irving played 30 minutes and hit 14 points while dishing out 5 assists.   Second teamer Marreese Speights scored 17 off the bench with 8 boards.

The loss dropped the Cavs’ record down to 13 and 34 overall. They have lost 21 of 28 games on the road this year.
