CLEVELAND, Ohio —
It was clear LeBron James and his teammates came ready to play Cleveland on Friday night.
The atmosphere at Quicken Loans Arena was electric; the only thing missing was the Cavaliers, who lost to the Heat 111-87.
Miami opened the game on an 11-0 run capped by a James dunk. Cleveland started the game 1-7 from the field and fell behind by 20 points in the first quarter.
Miami extended its lead to 27 points in the first half after a Dwayne Wade three-pointer and by halftime, the game was all but over as the Heat took a 63-38 lead into the intermission.
LeBron James finished with a game-high 28 points. Dwayne Wade had 22 and Chris Bosh added 16. The Cavs were led by Kyrie Irving who had 17 points. This was the final game between the two teams this season, unless the Cavs can play their way into the playoffs.
Cleveland finishes 0-3 against Miami for the season. The Cavs return to action on Sunday when they face the Sacramento Kings. Cleveland is now 11-17 for the year, 6-8 at home.
