WILLOUGHBY, Ohio -- Police are searching for the driver of a minivan that collided with a police cruiser two times early Monday morning.

A police officer stopped the minivan in a motel parking lot because the minivan's headlights were not on.

After several strange answers to questions, the police officer asked the minivan driver to get out of the vehicle.

But the driver took dead aim on the officer and police cruiser. "He pushed the police car back a little bit. He reversed his car, got around the officer and out of the parking lot of the motel and that's when our officers pursued him," said Sgt. Matt Tartaglia of the Willoughby Police Department.

At one point, the minivan spun out of control and started to go eastbound in the westbound lanes of I-90.

The police cruiser managed to get in front, forcing a second collision which managed to turn the minivan around and get it headed in the right direction of the interstate.

Finally, the minivan exited the interstate at 185th Street. "That's where he crashed, lost control of the vehicle, hit a telephone pole and the driver fled on foot. He was not apprehended," said Sgt. Tartaglia.
