CLEVELAND (WJW) – What started as a whirlwind romance online led to a FOX 8 investigation into catfishing in Cleveland.

Catfishing is when someone hides their true identity online. In some cases, a catfisher is using someone else’s images, profession, likes and location, and often using this identity to trick other people into a financial exchange.

A man in Middleburg Heights is sharing his story – and it’s unfortunately – far more common than you might think.
