CLEVELAND — Convicted Cleveland kidnapper Ariel Castro arrived at the Lorain Correctional Institution in Grafton early Friday evening after he was transported from the Cuyahoga County Jail.
His mug shot was made available Saturday morning.
Castro pleaded guilty to 937 counts including aggravated murder, kidnapping and rape, and will be in prison for the rest of his life, plus an additional 1,000 years without the possibility of parole.
He was sentenced Thursday.
The chief of communications for the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction said Castro was “calm and cooperative” upon arrival.
Castro will not be among the general population at the Lorain Correctional Institution, and it’s still not yet known where he will serve his prison sentence.
