CLEVELAND — Construction on a skywalk to connect a parking structure to the Horseshoe Casino is underway.
It will run diagonally across the Ontario Street and Prospect Avenue intersection downtown, allowing guests to cross from the Collection Auto Group Centre to the second floor of the casino.
The skywalk will be 175 feet long and will sit approximately 16 feet, 6 inches above the street level.
Guest lobbies will be situated on each side.
“The walkway answers the call of our guests, who have requested a more convenient way to access the casino without crossing busy streets or braving harsh weather,” said Marcus Glover, senior vice president and general manager of Horseshoe Cleveland.
Temporary road and sidewalk closures may occur during construction but efforts will be taken to keep disruptions to a minimal, especially on days with downtown events.
Also during construction, complimentary guest shuttles will continue to transport guests from the parking structure to the casino.
The walkway will be enclosed in a sleek, glass facade and is expected to open in early 2014.
