SHEFFIELD TWP., Ohio — The Ohio State Highway Patrol Elyria Post is investigating after a vehicle hit a teenager carrying his 4-year-old brother on his shoulders, then took off.

The accident happened around 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday along Clifton Ave. in Sheffield Twp.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol Elyria Post said Matthew Hollingsworth, 17, of Lorain, was walking north on the east side of the street with his brother, Charles Thomas Harrington, Jr., 4.

The boys were taken to Lorain Mercy Hospital by Sheffield Twp. EMS.

St. Vincent Life Flight then moved them to Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital in Cleveland.
