CLEVELAND -- Another Cleveland fire station was hit by a bullet Sunday.

This marks the third shooting at a fire station this year.

Cleveland firefighters at Station 30 on St. Clair Avenue made a disturbing discovery around 7 p.m. Sunday.

"As they came back from their emergency run, they found a bullet hole in the front windows right in front of the apparatus bay," said Local 93 secretary Mike Norman.

According to Norman, the bullet struck directly in front of the battalion chief's SUV.

This is the third time shots have been fired into a Cleveland fire station this year.

"In January at Station 20 on Pearl Road, there were two shots fired into that building. One on the first and one on the ninth," added Norman.

Norman said one of the bullets back then actually lodged itself into one of the rescue squads.

"We dodge bullets all the time. This time we actually dodged bullets. We respond to a lot of gun violence and to have it come close to home is a big concern, especially having it three times in a year is an even bigger concern," said Norman.

Now no one was hurt in any of these shootings.

But the union said these incidents are not only a threat to their firefighters but it's also a threat to this community.

"If someone is shooting them up and hurting them, who is going to protect us in a house fire?" said Tamika Seymour of Cleveland.

More concerns for a department already dealing with the results of recent gun violence.

Back in November, Lt. William Walker was gunned down in his own driveway. Then in May, Theodore Wright was shot and killed while driving on East 71st street.

No arrests have been made in either case.

"The frequency of these events. At what point do you feel like you are being targeted? And it's a concern for our members and the community," said Norman.
