Final: Browns 9,  Steelers 24

CLEVELAND, Ohio — Cleveland Browns (0-11) rookie quarterback Cody Kessler was taken to the locker room with a probable concussion as the team lost to their longtime rivals, the Pittsburgh Steelers (5-5), at First Energy Stadium today.

Kessler was being dragged down by linebacker Ryan Shazier when Lawrence Timmons rushed in and struck Kessler in the head with his shoulder. Timmons was penalized for unnecessary roughness.

Kessler pent several minutes on the ground before he was helped to the sideline. He was checked by medical personnel before leaving the field for further evaluation. The team later tweeted that he would not return to the game.

Josh McCown replaced Kessler.

Kessler has already missed one game with a concussion. He had to leave two other games with injuries.

The game:

Starting for the Steelers is quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, who has thrown 20 touchdowns for 2,357 yards.

Cody Kessler gets the start for the Browns. He’s thrown six touchdowns for 1,241 yards this season.

The Browns lost their 10th game of the season to the Baltimore Ravens last week. Josh McCown threw two interceptions in the 7-28 loss.
