CLEVELAND– The Cleveland Browns “perfect season” parade quickly exceeded its fundraising goal.
A GoFundMe page was created to pay for the parade. McNeil said the $1,999 will go towards security, fees and restrooms.
As of Monday morning, more than $4,000 was raised. He said any money above the goal will go to the Greater Cleveland Food Bank. If the parade is canceled, it will all be donated.
“We now project a surplus of $2,100, which will be donated to the Greater Cleveland Food Bank. That surplus will provide 8,400 meals for those in need,” McNeil said.
The parade is set for Saturday, Jan. 7 and the route will wrap around FirstEnergy Stadium. So far, more than 5,000 people on Facebook said they are attending while nearly 9,000 more said they are interested.
