CLEVELAND, Ohio (WJW) — Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski probably expected questions about kicker Cade York missing another field goal this pre-season and about a deleted social media post during Thursday night’s game.

Sports reporters started Friday’s press conference about the 18-18 tie with the Philadelphia Eagles by asking five of the first 6 questions about York.

Stefanski was asked if it’s difficult for head coaches to have patience with kickers.

“I have a ton of confidence in Cade (York) because I’ve seen him do it in practice, I’ve seen him do it in games. So he’ll continue to work,” Stefanski said. “It’s an occupational hazard that you’re going to miss one. It’s just how you deal with it and how you bounce back from it,” he added.

Stefanski was then asked about York’s Instagram account which according to Sports Illustrated, shared a team post “celebrating his conversion of a first-half field goal.”

However, Stefanski denied York made the post which was later deleted.

“That was not Cade who posted that. I’ll talk to him about that and all of our players. We know the rules. They’re not allowed to be – none of us, players, coaches, we’re not allowed to be on our phones once kickoff hits. So we’ll address that with the guys,” Stefanski said.

Stefanski was asked about bringing in a new kicker.

“Cade’s our kicker. We support him. We have a ton of confidence in him. That’s really as simple as that.”
