Portion of Ohio Turnpike reopens after ‘multiple crashes’ cleared

BROADVIEW HEIGHTS, Ohio -- Broadview Heights police, fire and EMS have responded to multiple crashes on the Ohio Turnpike Saturday afternoon, officials tell Fox 8 News.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisting  Broadview Heights police with the accidents.

The road was closed a few hours but as of 6 p.m., was opened again.

Dispatch told Fox 8 News that the crashes happened in the westbound lanes, near milemarker 162.7. Drivers were asked to avoid that area completely.

There was no immediate word on injuries.
