CHICAGO , Illinois — The Cleveland Indians gave a young Cubs fan and his dad free tickets to Game 3 of the World Series in Chicago Friday after the boy was injured while attending the first game in Cleveland.

Johnny Wallach, 7, and his father, David Wallach, were in the bleachers at Progressive Field Tuesday night as part of Johnny’s birthday gift.

When the Indians scored the team’s first run of the game, a nearby Indians fan was so excited, she jumped up to high-five his friends and accidentally hit Johnny in the temple, knocking him out, according to David Wallach.

“It hurt a lot,” Johnny said.

Johnny was taken to the Cleveland Clinic and treated for a concussion, missing the rest of the game. The Indians organization wanted to make up for that, and provided two free tickets to Friday’s game in Chicago so Johnny and his father could enjoy a full World Series match up.

“I don’t know how to explain how excited I am. I’m just like so excited,” Johnny said, adding that he forgives the Tribe fan who caused the injury.

He and his father both thanked the Indians and Cleveland fans who have been supportive on social media.

“It’s amazing the Indians organization fulfilling a dream we started three days ago,” David Wallach said. “Thank you to everyone in Cleveland, thank you to the Indians, thanks to fans, everyone on social media reaching out.”

Wallach said they had sunglasses and ear plugs with them in the stands at Wrigley in case of issues due to the concussion, but all went smoothly and they had a great time at the game.
