AVON LAKE, Ohio — Authorities say a body was found floating face down in Lake Erie Monday evening.

A teen reportedly spotted the body of a male and called authorities.

According the Lorain County Coroners Office, a 34-year-old male from North Olmsted dropped off a friend in Avon Lake then decided to go for a swim at about 6 p.m. The man appears to have drowned off Miller Road Park in Avon Lake and his body found around 6:19 p.m.

The man’s belongings were found along the beach, and his car parked nearby.

Police say there is no evidence of suicide or foul play and appears to be an accident.

The body has yet to be identified.
