DESTIN, Fla. — Dramatic video has been released showing deputies pulling a driver from a burning vehicle.
It happened on Christmas Day, but the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office just released the video.

According to information included with the Okaloosa Sheriff’s video post on YouTube, two officers responded to a reported crash with injuries. When they arrived at the scene, they found heavy flames around the rear of the car.
The flames were spreading to the inside, and the driver was still behind the wheel with the door locked.
The deputies had to hit and shatter the passenger side window to get the man out alive. The victim’s clothes were on fire. By the time officers broke the window, the car was engulfed.
The officers pulled the man from the broken window. The man was treated for minor burns, and later expressed his gratitude for the officers’ heroic efforts.
Both deputies were awarded medals of merit.
