NEWBURGH HEIGHTS, Ohio – Two Newburgh Heights police officers braved the wicked weather over the weekend to rescue a couple stranded on the highway. It was caught on camera.

The two officers saved the day for a couple who got a flat tire on 77 during Saturday’s storm, and it was all captured on their department-issued body cameras.

Officers Phil Llorada and Sarah Bittner got down on the ground, in the snow, and in the frigid air and changed the flat tire.

The chief said he is very proud of his officers’ actions. “It’s really nice these officers went above and beyond the normal call of duty,” said Newburgh Heights Police Chief John Majoy.

The tire got changed, and the couple got on their way, safely off the highway and without having to sit and wait for a tow truck in the storm.
