BAINBRIDGE TOWNSHIP, Ohio--  You probably have many memories of riding it.  But, now, the Big Dipper wooden roller coaster at Geauga Lake will be demolished.

Cedar Fair closed Geauga Lake in 2007, but the Big Dipper has remained standing.

Jeff Markley, Bainbridge Township trustee, told FOX 8 that Cedar Fair made the decision to tear down the coaster because people have been using it for a dangerous purpose: They have been climbing on it to take photos, which they post on social media.

The demolition is expected to happen within the next couple of weeks.

Markley said the future of the property remains up in the air.
