BAY VILLAGE, Ohio -- Investigators Thursday revealed new evidence they believe will help solve the kidnapping and murder of Amy Mihaljevic.

It was October 27, 1989 when Mihaljevic, 10, disappeared after meeting a man at the Bay Village Shopping Plaza right across the street from the police station. Her body was found three months later in a rural Ashland County field.

During Thursday's press conference, police showed a curtain and a blanket found near where Mihaljevic's body was found. They said they believe the items came from where the murder happened. They were used to wrap Mihaljevic's body.

The curtain is handmade, said authorities, and is in a quilted pattern. The blanket is not as distinct and appears to be store-bought.

Authorities say they believe someone will recognize the items, and asks the public to share the images and to call if they have any information.

There is a $50,000 reward for any information leading to an arrest in the case.

Authorities can be contacted at 440-871-1234 or bvpd@cityofbayvillage.com.
