Canton police: Escaped inmate found

CANTON, Ohio — An escaped inmate has been found, according to authorities.

He was located shortly before 1 a.m. Tuesday.

The suspect escaped from police custody Monday after a court hearing on a previous escape charge.

According to Canton police, Michael Houghton was being transported back to Stark County Jail after a hearing at Canton Municipal Court when he disappeared.

That was at around 4 p.m.

Houghton was last seen wearing a red jumpsuit, belly chains and leg irons.
