4:17 p.m. UPDATE: The Ashtabula County Sheriff's Office confirmed the body is that of 36-year-old Mandy Gottschalk.

ASHTABULA, Ohio -- Two arrests have been made in the disappearance of an Ashtabula woman, police say.

The arrests were made after deputies found the body of a woman in a shallow grave Monday night.

Ashtabula Sheriff Bill Johnson says authorities are working to determine if the body is that of the missing woman, Mandy Gottschalk, 36.

Gottschalk's family has been looking for her for days after reporting her missing on Aug. 17.

The body was found in the area of West 54th Street and Washington Avenue, around the area where Gottschalk lives. Police interviews led to the discovery of the grave.

Police then made the arrests. The two suspects were taken to the Ashtabula County Sheriff's Office pending charges in Ashtabula Municipal Court.

A search warrant was also obtained for Gottschalk's home.

Gottschalk has been missing since Aug. 15 around 2 a.m. Her mother says a friend brought her home from Geneva-on-the-Lake, and when Gottschalk's boyfriend arrived at around 4 a.m., he said she was not home.
