Another K-9 on the force: Parma police welcome Coney

PARMA, Ohio-Parma police welcomed another K-9 officer to the force.

Police said the new K-9, Coney, a young German Shepherd, will be joining the other K9s, Tyson and Felix, after weeks of intense training.

On Saturday, June 7, Coney will be sworn in.

It will happen at a ceremony at noon at Veteran’s Memorial Park in Parma.

Officer Nicholas Schuld will be Coney’s handler. They will patrol the city and assist officers and detectives with in catching suspects and tracking down narcotics.

According to Parma police, this is the first time in department history that there will be three K-9s working at the same time.
