JACKSON TOWNSHIP– An anonymous email sent to the Jackson Twp. School District last year accuses former freshman head basketball coach Scott Studer of molesting a student during a sleepover fifteen years earlier.

Lt. Rick Mitchell of the Jackson Twp. Police Department confirms the email is a part of an ongoing investigation into Studer, who resigned after investigators found dozens of images on his home computer that were secretly taken of students in a locker room shower.

Mitchell would not go into detail about the email, which was not a part of Studer’s personnel file that was shared with Fox 8 following his arrest.

It is also the first known accusation that Studer went beyond simply taking pictures.

Investigators say so far they have identified 74 students from the images found on Studer’s home computer after U.S. Postal inspectors executed a search warrant there in November on what has been called an unrelated federal investigation.

Mitchell says detectives have to still go through additional images and videos on Studer’s computer.

Superintendent Chris DiLoreto tells Fox 8 News that the anonymous email was immediately shared with police after it was sent to the school district. The author was never identified.

DiLoreto says more than five thousand records were also examined and he is confident they received no other accusations of abuse made against Studer during the 20 years he was employed by the district.

Studer is being held in the Stark County Jail on eight felony counts of illegal use of a minor in nudity oriented material.

He continues to be held on a two-million dollar bond.
