CLEVELAND -- The Association of Cleveland Fire Fighters Local 93 is collecting thousands of toys for children for the holidays.

The "Fill the Fire Truck" drive, now in its fifth year, is collecting brand new, unwrapped toys and monetary donations. In 2012, the toy drive collected more than 7,000 toys and raised $4,000 in monetary donations. The money raised goes toward the purchase of additional toys.

All toys collected by the Association are given to children at local shelters, homes, hospitals and other facilities helping needy families.

The drive kicked-off Saturday at Steelyard Commons, but donations will be accepted at any Cleveland fire station through December 17.
