BROOKLYN, Ohio — American Greetings released a rendering of its future Westlake Creative Studios on Monday.

The 655,000 square foot building will be built in Crocker Park and will include retail space.

Designed by RTKL architects, the 5-story structure will have an open square with courtyard space for use by American Greetings employees and will be connected to a garage by a glass-enclosed skyway.

The current American Greetings world headquarters in Brooklyn has 1,750 employees and the new building’s capacity is limited to 1,600.

About 150 employees may stay at the current location or be moved to a separate facility in the Cleveland area.

The company plans on breaking ground early next year and hopes the project will be finished by mid-2014.
