NORTHFIELD, Ohio-- The Hard Rock Rocksino in Northfield is almost ready to roll!
Tuesday, FOX 8 got a tour of the nearly-completed facility that will open to the public, Wednesday, December 18.
"I think we appeal to Northeast Ohio, not just Cleveland. We're very close to Akron, Canton, Massillon-area," said Jon Lucas, president of the Hard Rock Rocksino.
According to Lucas, the project cost almost $268 million to complete.
"There are some spectacular features. There's probably a million dollars of memorabilia displayed. The decor itself, with the spectacular light fixtures, it all adds to the iconic Hard Rock image," added Lucas.
In addition, the facility will offer over 2,200 games.
There are plenty of options for entertainment and eating.
"Everybody loves to eat. We have four great restaurants," said Lucas.
And there's also Hard Rock Live, a concert venue that sits 1900 people, 2600 standing room.
"This facility offers ample parking, room for five lanes of valet parking. I think we have a lot of features that give people a reason to come here versus the competition," said Lucas.
Opening ceremonies begin Dec. 18 at 4:00 p.m. The public will be allowed inside at 5:30 p.m.
After that, the Rocksino will be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
"This place is about music; it's about passion; it's about life. Music is a universal language. Everybody has some song that gives them a memory of something. I think that's a part of it. Plus, the facility itself is spectacular," said Lucas.
Joan Jett and the Blackhearts are the opening act.
A comedy club will also open there in January.
