AKRON, Ohio --  Akron Police have made an arrest in connection with a weekend murder.

According to Lt. Rick Edwards with the Akron Police Department, Rudolph Valentino Ammons III, 29, of South Arlington Street, was arrested in connection to the murder of Anthony Hargrove.

Ammons III, was taken into custody without incident around 8:30 a.m. in the 700 block of East Buchtel Avenue, according to Edwards.

Hargrove was stabbed to death around 1:00 a.m. on Sunday morning near East Market and Adams Street.

Akron Police had been circulating surveillance video via social media of the man they believed was responsible for the stabbing.

Surveillance cameras captured images of a man believed to be Ammons III in a hooded sweatshirt, riding a BMX Huffy bike at 1:09 a.m., moments before he allegedly stabbed Hargrove.

According to police, Hargrove was later found on a park bench outside Akron City Hospital. He was rushed to the emergency room, but could not be revived.

Ammons III has been charged with aggravated murder and felonious assault and booked into the Summit County Jail.

Hargrove’s sister, who did not want to be identified out of fear for her safety, told Fox 8 News' Jack Shea, "I couldn't even speak, I felt like I couldn't breathe because I couldn't actually believe it was my brother. You know, you hear it, that it happens to people but you always think that it can never happen to someone that's close to you."

Hargrove's sister said her brother leaves behind four young children.

She said her grieving family is relieved that authorities were able to track down video of the killer.

"Obviously it was something that was premeditated.  You know they drove around thinking about it.  Like I said, that type of person is dangerous because if you're driving around for that long, riding around and you're thinking about it and you're still able to go through with it, that person is scary," Hargrove's sister said.
